The desert isn’t the only place where danger hides.

The streets are crowded.

The alleys are narrow.

And everyone wants what’s inside the cache.

Beneath the colorful awnings and crowded stalls of a desert city, smugglers, thieves, hired blades, and wandering troublemakers move unnoticed among the merchants and travelers. Some wait for the right mark. Others protect valuable secrets. A few simply offer their services to whoever carries the heaviest purse.

Then the ambush begins.

Smoke fills the street. Knives flash from the crowd. Hidden attackers close off every escape while heavily armed bruisers move in to finish the job.

At the center of the chaos sits the Smuggler’s Cache, loaded with crates, contraband, and an open chest of coin. It could be stolen treasure waiting to be recovered, illicit cargo that must be protected, or simply the prize every faction on the battlefield is willing to kill for.

But the fighting has awakened something beneath the city.

A Giant Scorpion erupts into the streets, turning a carefully planned ambush into a desperate battle for survival.

Whatever happens next is up to you.

Big Bad

Giant Scorpion

Armored in a thick natural carapace and armed with crushing claws and a venomous stinger, the Giant Scorpion brings a massive threat to the streets of the desert city.

It can serve as a wild creature disturbed by the fighting, a trained weapon unleashed by the bandits, the guardian of the Smuggler’s Cache, or the centerpiece of an entirely different encounter.

However it enters the battle, everyone has a new problem.

Terrain

Smuggler’s Cache

Crates, jars, wrapped goods, and an open chest overflowing with coin make the Smuggler’s Cache more than a piece of scenery.

Place it at the center of the map as stolen treasure waiting to be recovered, valuable cargo that must be defended, contraband the party has been hired to seize, or the objective every group on the battlefield is fighting to control.

What the cache contains and why it matters are entirely up to the Dungeon Master.

The included encounter is only the beginning.

Perhaps the ambushers belong to a larger criminal network operating throughout the desert. Maybe the Smuggler’s Cache contains something far more dangerous than gold. The Giant Scorpion could be one of many monsters nesting beneath the city, or its sudden appearance may have been deliberately arranged by someone who wanted both sides eliminated.

The bandits can return as thieves, assassins, mercenaries, rival adventurers, caravan raiders, or agents of a more powerful enemy.

And the characters found wandering the market may know far more than they initially reveal.

The ambush may be over.

The trouble doesn’t have to end there.

Dungeon Master’s Note

The Desert Ambush miniatures are designed to fit easily into nearly any fantasy campaign. Use them to populate a crowded desert marketplace, stage an attack along a remote trade road, build a criminal hideout, or add new characters to a city inspired by classic sword-and-sorcery adventures.

The bandits offer a mix of nimble attackers, ranged threats, smoke-wielding skirmishers, and heavy muscle. The city NPCs can become merchants, informants, quest-givers, suspects, allies, or enemies depending on what your adventure needs.

The Smuggler’s Cache gives the encounter a clear visual objective without defining how it must be used. Your players might need to recover it, defend it, steal from it, inspect it, or prevent someone else from escaping with its contents.

The Giant Scorpion can appear at the beginning of the battle or erupt midway through the encounter to change everything. It may serve the bandits, guard the cache, or attack anyone unfortunate enough to stand within reach of its claws.

Set the objective.

Spring the ambush.

Then let the players create the story.

FAQ's-
How Long to I have to wait for my Mini's
All new orders placed between the 6th and last day of the month, will ship out the next business day. When a subscription is started, you will receive that months subscription.

When will my order ship?
New orders placed by 5pm MST are usually shipped next day.
Monthly subscriptions are charged on the 5th/6th of the Month, with orders going out ASAP.
If you start a new subscription between the 1st and 5th of the month, your order will be shipped with that months subscriptions...EX an order placed on the 2nd will be charged on the 2nd, and shipped on the 7th or 8th with the monthly subscriptions, and your second order will be charged the 5th/6th of the following month.

How do I cancel of pause my subscription?
When your subscription is started you will be able to manage your subscription, and can pause or cancel via your dashboard.

What if there is a Broken or Damaged Mini in my order?
We do our best to inspect. package, and protect all mini's, but sometimes there may be a broken Mini. You can email us at info@charmandember.com and we will add the replacement to your next order.  If you need the Mini for your next session we can ship you a replacement sooner if requested.

Where do you get your files?
We have partnerships with multiple designers and sculptors including MZ4250, M3DM, and DMStash.

Can I buy previous packs?
Yes! We recently upgraded our Packs to be more Cinematic and build around an Encounter or Diorama Set up you can view those in our Legacy Pack Collection, The packs before that were built around Hordes of Monsters, can you can find those in our TTRPG Miniature Pack Collection.  Note: The TTRPG Mini Packs are a random collection of hordes, we don't have duplicates in those packs, but buying multiple packs may give you multiples of a particular mini. (Great for Horde Building)
